Tell Me, What Have You Left The World?

Tell Me, What Have You Left The WorldLet’s say I’m dead, a big old bag of dead. What have I left the world?

My children, I have amazing kids, big deal. With their artistic and musical nature, they are providing nothing but joy to those around them.

Some tired furniture, a book collection and a seemingly fire-proof pile of credit card bills.

Have I actually done anything that makes a difference and makes a change? Is there anything other than my children that I will be remembered for? Is this what people start thinking when they shoot up a movie theatre? So many questions.

Other than a mass shooting, or dying while taking a shit, I need to come up with something for you to talk about long after I’m gone.

Tell me, what have you left the world?

  1. This is a good question and sometimes I ask myself this, too (like 2-3 times per day)…

Well I worked as a graphic designer 20+ years now and have left some traces of my work and influence here and there but mostly in the name of other companies and agencies. After all it will be my children who will always remember me and some friends may be …

But you must not worry – because you have created a unique piece of art with this blog of yours, it will be the virtual stone on your grave and people will always remember you for your genius and humor … πŸ˜‰

  2. I’ve sort of semi-migrated to YouTube whilst my blog is on the back burner. I’ll have a ton of YouTube videos to remember me by – and hopefully people will say, Yeah. Yeah, that man made a fucking difference in my life. He was good.

My Son, he’s 5 now – but hopefully I’ll snuff it when he’s a fully grown man so he doesn’t need to fend for himself.

My wife – I better go first because I’ll lose the damn plot. I couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery. She does all my organising.

If it bothers you that much – that you haven’t made a big enough dent in the world why not be that change that you strive to be! πŸ™‚ – as in grab the world by the vaginals and kick some arse πŸ™‚

  3. I’m in the same sort of boat. My kids are wonderful and I’ll be leaving more comfort and happiness in my wake than pain. It’s all just bubbles in the universe, but it’s good to have few regrets.

  4. I’ve been coming back to your post time to time and do you know I’m not sure I can think of anything lol. However, and I DON’T mean to show off, I’m single with a little money and after I’m gone my will states everything I own is to go to my brother and his family, if the money helps with education or buying a first house then that’s nice to dream. As always a very thoughtful post.

  5. You crack me up! Let’s see. . .you have children as a legacy (which I don’t, so now I’m depressed), and you’re blog is highly entertaining and will live on in cyberworld long after you’re gone. Me, well I’ll leave a few books behind and my ghost all over social media. LOL

  6. Nothing nadda. I once painted a real nice pic in high school. Maybe someone will find it and I’ll be known as a lost artistic soul. But it don’t bother me I’ll be dead

  7. Fascinating question! I love hw your blog really makes me think about life πŸ™‚

I don’t have kids so no legacy there, but hopefully my blog would keep encouraging peeps to read good books, travel to cool places and bake more cakes. And maybe all the petitions I sign and share will have helped a tiny part of the world to be a better place.

If not, I guess I would rather leave no trace at all. I saw a sign on a beautiful walk once about just taking photographs and leaving only footprints. That struck me as pretty profound!

That’s a Superb Question, my Dear SAS!

I won’t answer it. Modesty forbids me! πŸ™‚ How is that for ‘Humility with a Hook!’

I leave it to my Friends to say whatever they want about me in this Regard.

But this is a Superb Question. That Needs our Time and Thought! Happy Thinking! πŸ™‚

  9. You made me stop and think. I hope that people will remember me for my love and friendship for them. Perhaps that is what we should strive for. Thanks for making me think. Stopping by from Pit Top Link up
